Regional Arts Australia is asking people to help shape the creative future of regional communities as part of a national consultation by filling in a simple on-line survey during the month of June 2013.

A new museum that explores what democracy means will open in May in Ballarat on the site of the Eureka Stockade, one of Australia’s defining democratic events.
Doors open on Saturday 4 May and the celebrations will occur over two action-packed weekends – M.A.D.E In Ballarat on 4-5 May and M.A.D.E By Women on 11-12 May (Mother's Day weekend).

Entries open for Cancer Council Victoria’s 16th Arts Awards
Entries have officially opened for Cancer Council Victoria’s 16th annual Arts Awards. The awards provide Australians touched by cancer with an opportunity to share their experience creatively through art, writing and film.
The awards are open to artists of all skill levels in nine categories: Visual Art, Poetry, Short Story, Film, Indigenous Visual Art, Children’s Art, Children’s Writing, Youth Writing and Youth Art.

Free double tickets to see Musica Viva concert at tne Melbourne Recital Centre

Our friends at Musica Viva are offering two double tickets to their Saturday 17 November concert featuring violinist Anthony Marwood and pianist Aleksandar Madžar at the Melbourne Recital Centre, at 8pm. The duo have been friends for many years, but began playing together regularly just three years ago. When these two highly accomplished musicians perform together something special happens, described by Marwood as a ‘musical soul connection’. BBC Music Magazine describes them as creative wizardry’. The program will include Beethoven, Debussy and Schubert.
