VCE Choreography Workshops - 90 minutes
Anna Smith, Artistic Director of aka DANCE and Green Room Award winner for choreography of 3 works (Red Rain1999, Quiescence 2001 and Spun by a Thread 2001) will lead intensive workshops to facilitate further understanding of the complexities of Choreography.
These Choreography workshops are aimed at senior secondary students and are well suited to those intending to study and those already studying VCE dance. The workshops are designed to draw on and specifically challenge the movement vocabulary and ways of creating movement of each individual.
In the workshop Anna works on development of movement phrases, abstraction of ideas and the understanding of expressive intent.
Anna brings with her a wealth of choreographic knowledge and experience; her works have been performed in Canada, France, Singapore and China as well as around Australia.
