Check Out! is a wickedly funny work of theatre about consumer culture by the witty and wonderful Polyglot Puppet Theatre. Set in a supermarket, this production examines how children are targeted as a highly influential group in the consumption of goods in modern Australian society. The central character, an 'I WANT I WANT' child, is forced to to face up to some interesting conclusions as she battles for survial in the supermarket... It's a weird world out there and sometimes you need more than products to see you through.
Check Out! is filled with puppetry at its most innovative and cheeky, working with sound as the ever-present muzak that can change the atmosphere instantly and becomes a character in its own right.
