arts2GO For almost 40 years, Regional Arts Victoria has been touring the very best of the arts to schools in Victoria. Since the first arts2GO tour in 1969, over 3.5 million students have experienced performances in locations from Walpeup to Cann River. The regional outreach of arts2GO is second-to-none: over 50,000 students experience 500 performances and workshops each year, approximately half of which occur in regional, rural and remote Victoria. As one of RAV’s major programs it is our priority to provide affordable and accessible arts experiences to all Victorian schools, regardless of size, distance or disadvantage. arts2GO provides performances and workshops - including drama, dance, music, visual arts, literature, new media and more – that can be integrated across the curriculum. The Arts are an excellent way of exploring the Physical, Personal and Social, and Interdisciplinary Strands of Learning in the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS). In addition, engaging with the Arts allows students to explore important social health and welfare issues in a stimulating, creative context. We work closely with the Department of Education & Early Childhood Development (DEECD), through the Strategic Partnerships Program, to ensure that the arts2GO Program supports quality and innovative teaching practices. Representatives from DEECD, VCAA, subject associations, and Victorian primary and secondary teachers, sit on regular Advisory Panels to inform planning and programming.
