Impro Zone
Impro Zone is an exciting and motivating performance that inspires creativity and risk taking. Built around the fundamental skills of improvisation: spontaneity, character and scene building, Impro Zone demonstrates skills relevant to any area of impro, including Theatresports™.
Impro Zone opens with an entertaining illustration of basic impro terminology so that students and teachers develop a shared terminology and understanding. Students can see these skills in action as the improvisers begin to perform, creating spontaneous scenes using audience suggestions, their own crazy ideas ... and volunteers!
Impro Zone will assist teachers with their Improvisation and Theatresports™ units and is suitable for students of all levels and experience. It will inspire students with the central tenets of improvisation (teamwork, communication, trust, and respect for others); explain, clarify, and apply the skills of spontaneous improvisation; and will assist them to perform games used in Theatresports™, where students can see these principles in action.
