Regional Arts Victoria is the peak body for regional arts activitiy across the state. Established in 1969 as the Victorian Arts Council, a branch of the Arts Council of Australia, today the state government refers to RAV asĀ  one of 12 major cultural organisations in Victoria.

As an arts maker, RAV has led some ground-breaking projects to national acclaim, including: Illuminated by Fire, Possum Skin Cloak, Meeting Place, Such Fertile Ground, Bute Utes and Bal Moderne. All consist of high-quality art that engages individuals and groups in meaningful ways and which leaves a residue of skill, confidence and capacity in regional communities.
